Dr. Heather Adu-Sarkodie is originally from Jamaica. She moved to the USA and finished high school at North Miami Beach Senior High. She obtained a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology from Prairie View A&M University, TX. She then attended the University of Iowa College of Dentistry, during which time she conducted research projects as well as participated in student dental organizations. Upon graduating, she entered the Dentist-Scientist program from which she obtained a Ph.D. in Oral Science along with a specialty Certificate in Endodontics.


As assistant professor at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry, she has directed courses in Sophomore Endodontics, Emergency Dentistry, and Quality Assurance. She was also Director of Clinics in the department of Clinic Administration.

Dr. Adu-Sarkodie moved to Southwest Florida in 2004 and has maintained a practice limited to Endodontics. She is a member of the AAE and its subsidiary FAE where she attends annual meetings. She is also a member of the ADA, WCDDA, and LCDS where she was president 2016-17 and on the executive committee for 5 years. She has two children and enjoys gardening, traveling, reading and learning.
